He is dedicated, passionate and highly motivated in support of the Salzburg 2014 bid and Alfred Gusenbauer, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Austria, demonstrated this with his timely arrival on Saturday afternoon, ahead of the IOC to decide which city will have the honour to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2014.
Prime Minister Alfred Gusenbauer stated after his arrival: For two years now the team of Salzburg 2014 has worked diligently and very focused. We are passionate about winter sports and we are equally passionate about hosting the Winter Games. Thus, we will use the upcoming hours until the very last minute to communicate our concept to the Olympic Family. If Salzburg has the honour to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2014, this will lift the Olympic Movement to new heights, winning back the young to winter sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games thanks to our Olympic Youth Festival concept. And, I like to repeat it: Salzburg offers the Olympic Movement something money cant buy - fantastic atmosphere, sold-out sporting events, passion, and a great wealth of experience. I am looking forward to the decision on 4 July. Members of the Salzburg 2014 delegation are currently putting the finishing touches to their final presentation and are briefing the Olympic family in the Salzburg bid. Note: From 1 July, there will be daily press briefings featuring the stakeholders and Ambassadors of the Salzburg 2014 team. Also, on 2 July, Prime Minister Gusenbauer will visit the Austrian school in Guatemala City a school that was elected for years as the best school in Guatemala. Media representatives accredited are invited to cover the event and to meet the Prime Minister, Gabi Burgstaller, Governor of the State of Salzburg, Heinz Schaden, President and Chairman of Salzburg 2014 and the Salzburg 2014 Ambassadors including Chairman International Franz Klammer. Prime Minister Gusenbauer will also be meeting with the President of Guatemala Oscar Berger Perdomo; the meeting includes a press conference on 3 of July.
